Finance Analyst / Project Coordinator

We currently have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst / Project Coordinator. This position will be comprised of two key roles within the organization, concurrently. The successful candidate will have an active role in the monthly financial reporting and analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting and projections. This candidate will also assist the management team in organizing our ongoing projects. This task involves monitoring project plans, schedules, budgets, expenditures, participation in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

FINANCE
  • Prepare, review and submit monthly executive financial report
  • Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations
  • Prepare annual financial information package to be provided to external auditors
  • Prepare quarterly operating reports
  • Assist in the budget and reforecast process
  • Maintain budget and reforecast information in the accounting systems in place
  • Evaluate revenue and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed
  • Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
  • Assist in the work assignments of the Finance team over a broad range of accounting functions
PROJECT COORDINATION
  • Maintain and Monitor project plans, schedules, budgets and expenditures
  • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings
  • Documenting and following up on actions and decisions from meetings
  • Assist in ensuring project deadlines are met
  • Providing administrative support as needed
  • Assist in developing project strategies
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective

Qualifications

  • Significant Accounting knowledge and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or comparable accreditation an asset
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in reporting and financial analysis. Experience in the real estate / housing industry a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
  • Knowledge and experience with Yardi software a significant asset
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely and accurate manner is critical
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Criminal Record Check required
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle required

Project Manager

The Project Manager will be solely responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting with respect to the progress, deficiencies and satisfactory completion of all new construction including High Density Housing and renovations of various types of residential units.

Management duties will also include but are not limited to; the foregoing and financial/administrative reporting, maintenance/replacement planning, supervision and management of staff, assessment and evaluation of all projects, contract administration, funding opportunities and sales of units.

Qualifications

  • Journey Person in a Construction trade
  • University undergraduate degree in related area would be an asset
  • 3 - 5 years planning and/or management experience required
  • 3 - 5 years of recent construction and/or inspection experience
  • Experience in project management and management of numerous projects simultaneously
  • Experience in the management and supervision of staff
  • Business acumen
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
  • Proficient in the use of computers; Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook and highly proficient in Excel
  • Criminal Record Check required
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required
